Mi Casa Pt 2
A little preface on my new place might be nice...
Its a studio underneath a garage which is seperate from the main house. Only the back portion of the place is underground somewhat, as the property is on the hillside of a forest ravine. Which makes for a nice view out the windows. I have a nice little deck outside the front door and the stairs outside lead you through basically a homemade rainforest - many different trees, giant ferns, etc. The owners of the property are very cool and laid back, they go bike riding everyday and go on hardcore adventures bikeriding and camping. I decided I wanted to move out around March, and fortunately I came by this place at the right time and got dibs on it before it even hit the classifieds. I don't have much stuff, so it was pretty easy moving out of my single room into this place. My friend Tammy helped me move. I borrowed my boss's van and we got it done in about 2 1/2 loads. Not bad. We had to carry the mattresses down a few flights of rainforest stairs, which was interesting! Good fun tho. At the end of the night we ordered our favorite pizza - pesto with pineapple - and cracked open a bottle of my favorite Syrah to celebrate. Now I've just been chipping away at unpacking and getting everything in its place. I'm almost finished...
I've come to appreciate not having loads of excess crap and am thoroughly enjoying simpleness. Now I have a peaceful place to relax, study and sleep, and I hope to have many friends and family come visit me in my new abode in the future. =]
I took some more pictures. You'll notice the shades are pulled, since the only time I'm actually in my house is in the dark depths of the night. Henceforth, the lighting is orangish and moody, and I apologize. But you get the picture right? lol I'm going to try and put them in panoramic order, so you can get a feel for the "coziness" of the place. ("Coziness" is the word I'm using instead of "Smallness") =P
